If you explain why the city is better off with lower taxes, you could be going to lunch with Councillor Doug Ford.
That’s the prize for the Toronto Taxpayer’s Coalition essay and video competition it announced today.
It wants residents to complete this sentence: “Lower taxes are good for Toronto because _______.”
The meal will be paid for by the group. No word on what kind of restaurant it will be at.
They ask that the essays be 500 words long and the videos be no more than two minutes.
Toronto Taxpayer Coalition President Matthew McGuire maintains this contest is not politically backed and the group approached Ford.
McGuire says another prize includes lunch with Toronto Sun’s Sue Ann Levy.
